Post Kinneil Hide

Has anybody got any info about the hide at Kinneil near Grangemouth.  I always visit on a week end and the hide is always locked.  I think it an SWT hide, is there a way to get a loan of a key for a week end visit.  Dont mind paying a small fee for it, as in winter it would be nice to get some cover from the weather.  cheers Macrude

Kinneil Hide or more exact Kinneil Kerse is on the south shore of the river Forth between Grangemouth Oil Terminal and Bo'ness.  Check a map but you drive in a single track road towards the rear of the Oil Terminal from the A905, park near the Treatment Works you will know by the smell.  You can scan from the river bank opposite the Oil Terminal then walk along shoreline towards Bo'ness to the Lagoons passing the Hide on the way.  It's not very senic but you get some good birds, loads of Waders, Shelduck, all kinds of Ducks and a fair number of rarities.  Also the usual Raptors ie Buzzard, Merlin, Kestrel and if you are lucky a hunting Pregrine. Good luck.
