Post Hi

Hi

I'm new to the site, looks good

I'm a bit of a hillwalker so I have further developed a love of all things outdoors through that.

I am a very very very amateur bird watcher and look forward to gaining lots of tips and help with identification, etc. from other members.

Hi,

Many of us are complete amateurs - but all have our own experiences that we can share. What may seem like a common bird to you may be a 'rarity' in other's eyes and we can all benefit from coming together on this wonderful site.
So, welcome and don't be afraid to voice your views or tentative about sharing your experiences. There's little value in a site where pictures get posted and nobody tells you that you've totally misidentified the subject. Let's all learn together.

-Mark

Post Re: Hi

Thanks for stopping by Scotbird,

I am the Owner of the site and look to accomodate members in various ways, they asked for a ticklist system they got it, they asked for an alertz page and they got it.

There is a new version of the site soon to be release with upgraded feature to

Ticklist system - not only can you keep track of what you have seen, i have now made it more user friendly with a filter to find the birds in the list quicker, also there is now a leaderboard been installed, bit of freindly competion, see who has seen the most species this year, in their life or who has the most species on picture.

Alertz page, now has search filters to narrow down the alerts by region or by date. Instead of being stuck at the last 24 hrs, you can now view for arguement sake, say all rare and scarce birds that have popped up in an area for up to the last month.

The site doesnt just cover Birds, many of the members are keen wildlife enthusiasts and have knowledge on areas outside birds.

Feel free if you think the site can benefit in any way please let me know.

Oh , one final thing  -- Welcome to the scottish online birdwatching ( including other wildlife ) community, i hope you become a regular visitor like many on here.

Regards
