Subject: Birdwatching In Fife,Rosyth
Hi there, Im a new member so go easy on me.

Really excited about been able to see some great birds in my local woods. I pass by this woodland on my way to work each morning and have become obsessed with the birds there. There is red grouse there and a magnificant male one. Also i think there is a sea eagle there but i could be mistaken. It was standing about 6 foot away from me the other day and stood about 3 foot tall with a yellow beak it looked magnificant. Will try and get some photos but it definately looked like one.

Hi Lynn,
I'm also from Rosyth, where about is this woodland.
Could it be a cock pheasant and a buzzard you have seen.

Hi Lynn,

I would tend to agree with Baraband, Pheasant or Partridge perhaps and a Buzzard, I am in close contact with the RSPB Sea Eagle Release program and as yet there are no Birds Old enough in the Fife or Central Belt Local that would have the Yellow Beak.

GRab some Pictures and well will gladly help you identify them.

One last thing Welcome to the Community !!

Regards

I have seen the buzzard you are talking about. This bird is a great deal larger with a yellow beak. Im not sure about the red grouse but will get you some photos as soon as. Its the bluebell woods near the castle Im talking about. Hope im allowed to mention it. I walk there everyday and have seen the bird on a few occassions it flew over me not long ago and definitely has a crooked yellow beak and its wing span was more than 6 foot.
